Terms of Service

Effective date: July 2, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 2, 2026

These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Readiary. We recommend having them reviewed by a qualified professional before launch, and we'll update them when the service changes.

Welcome to Readiary. By using the app you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you subscribe to Readiary Plus, the Subscription Termsalso apply. If you don't agree, please don't use Readiary.

1. Who can use Readiary

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Readiary. If you're under the age required to form a binding contract where you live, you may use Readiary only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

Some features (cloud backup, sync, and social features) require an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@getreadiary.comif you believe your account has been compromised. You can use Readiary's core tracking features on-device without an account.

3. What Readiary is

Readiary is a personal reading tracker and journal: your library, reading progress, book memories, quotes, stats, lists, and optional social and discovery features. Core reading-tracking, Book Memory, snap-a-quote, basic stats, and backup are free. Optional premium features are offered through Readiary Plus (see the Subscription Terms).

4. Your content is yours

The books, notes, quotes, photos, memories, and other content you add are yours. You grant Readiary only the limited permission needed to operate the service for you — to store, back up, sync, and display your content on your devices, and to show it to the people you explicitly choose to share it with. We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train third-party advertising models. You're responsible for the content you add and for having the right to add it.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't use Readiary to:

6. Third-party content & affiliate links

Readiary shows book information from third-party sources (such as Open Library and Google Books) and links to retailers. Some of those retail links (for example, Bookshop.org, Libro.fm, and Amazon) are affiliate links, meaning Readiary may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you — if you buy through them. We don't control third-party sites and aren't responsible for their content, prices, or availability.

7. Subscriptions

Readiary Plus is an optional, auto-renewing subscription. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms are set out in the Subscription Terms, which form part of this agreement for subscribers.

8. Availability & changes

We work to keep Readiary running well, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available”basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may pause or discontinue parts of the service. We'll give reasonable notice of material changes where we can, and you can always export your data.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Readiary is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data beyond what the law requires. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law (including your statutory consumer rights). Please keep your own backups — you can export your library at any time from Settings.

10. Termination

You can stop using Readiary and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these terms or use Readiary in a way that harms other users or the service. If we end your access, you'll still be able to request an export of your data where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Readiary evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Readiary after a change means you accept the updated terms.
